Abba, Greek food, singers … and so much more to it at Mamma Mia the Party. Based at the O2, you can enjoy 3-4 hours of music, fun and dancing. A fun day out no matter the occasion & if you fancy it, dress up in your best outfit whether it’s the movie themed or 70s themed.
What is Mamma Mia the Party?
Based in the O2, you will be located in the Greek Taverna, and Nikos and his family will provide you with a 4 course meal with musical breaks. Based on the movie adaptation with new songs, you will be right in the thick of all of the fun.
What’s the Price?
I’m not going to lie, it isn’t a cheap night out – but it is totally worth it. At the time (August 2023) I paid about £180 for the best seats (literally the table right at the front). It was money well spent as it was incredible to be so close to everything.
There are 2 different times, 12pm and 18:30pm. We went to the 12pm one and I’m very glad we did as we travelled into London. Tier A gives you the closest seats, Tier B gives terrace seats and Tier C is limited drinks across terrace and balcony. The pricing is as follows:
Tier A: £210 + £21 booking fee for peak time & £180 + £18 booking fee for off peak time.
Tier B: £185 + £18.50 booking fee for peak time & £155 + £15.50 booking fee for off peak time.
Tier C: £140 + £14 booking fee for peak time & £109 + £10.90 booking fee for off peak time.
Each ticket comes with a welcome drink, four course meal, the whole experience & disco after.
The ticket doesn’t include drinks so you will have to pay after.
My Review of Mamma Mia the Party
We ended up choosing the 12pm option on a Saturday for Mamma Mia the Party. So we left about 7am to get a train up to London – of course I went in full purple glitter outfit ready for a party.
Our train arrived into Waterloo so we got the London Thames Clipper which takes 40 minutes to get to the O2. It might be one of the best things we did especially to avoid the business of the tube. There is also a bar on board, so mimosas were had.
Once we arrived to the O2 it was a bit of a wait to get into the area where Mamma Mia The Party was held – but there is a cool background for you to take a group picture. As you get let in immediately it is set up as if you were in the taverna.

It is the most surreal experience once you get into the venue. You are straight away transported to Greece and the staff couldn’t be more friendly. I chose my welcome drink of wine and we got led to our table. I didn’t realise we were one of the tables right at the front. Can’t lie I absolutely loved it but also I got neck ache from looking up – so Tier B tickets are also very very good too.

The Food
I can’t remember the order of food and musical numbers so I’m going to write about the food first. You can put dietary options in and the venue is good with accommodating you. We started out with a mezze board, so just think of breads, dips and olives. I used to live in the Greek area of Cyprus so I love this sort of food.
To start we had a traditional Greek salad with tomatoes, cucumber, feta cheese and onion. It was perfect and light, all you need when you have dancing and a 4 course meal.
For mains, it was braised lamb, garlic roasted potatoes, vegetables and red wine jus. It was good food, just what you expect from a four course meal with a show. Nothing michelin star but thats not what you are there for. You are there for good and tasty food which it was.
For dessert, it was Greek lemon cake, with Greek yogurt and orange caramel. I’m not a huge fan of lemon cake but it was delicious. They do have Baklava – which I didn’t think I liked at the time but I do now and I wish I went for it.
The Entertainment
The show does follow the 1st film’s story line which is to be honest what I think most of us went for – also for the music as well. It makes is very familiar and allows you to get involved with to fulfil your dreams of being part of this fantastic francise.
There are some surprise songs in there that you either didn’t hear as much in the movie or are just brand new. It was actually a lovely addition because I think that it was something that I didn’t expect and it was interesting to hear the composition of the songs.
The staff and performers sing and dance around you, climbing up ladders to balconies and showcase some amazing vocals. It is completely immersive and it’s such a great experience.

Did I sing? Yes I did. But not loud enough that it disturbed anyone, but some on, when Abba comes on, it’s difficult to not sing. Isn’t it? Word of warning – there is some strobe lighting which anyone with epilepsy will need to be aware of. My mum has a mild form of epilepsy so had to cover her eyes a little bit but the staff were really good with making sure she was okay.
The best part of the show, in my opinion was right at the end. I want to clarify – it wasn’t because it was over, but because it was the disco. Me and my cousin got chosen to be the first on stage so we danced for a good 2 minutes in front of the whole venue.

They played music from Abba & the Mamma Mia movie and it was brilliant to have a complete boogie.
In other words, just go and experience Mamma Mia The Party!
