Taking a cooking class in Italy should be at the top of your list.
Additionally, we try to take a food tour or a class wherever we visit, but Italy remains a priority.
I found this cooking class on Get Your Guide. Additionally, it combined pizza, pasta and dessert with wine, which is another added bonus.
There are many types of culinary classes. Moreover, some focus on pizza or pasta, but we wanted both.
Where Is It?
The cooking class takes place in Sorrento. We were picked up at the train station which was super easy to find.
Moreover, the minibus is about a 15-minute drive to this gorgeous, historic house. There are lots of stairs but the building is historic and gorgeous.
The building is owned by Chef Enzo and his amazing wife who do cooking classes in their own home – there’s also flats above which he rents out. The class takes place on the terrace with panoramic views of the Sorrento coast.

Enzo told us the building he brought was empty for over 100 years, and used to be owned by a Cardinal. The couple retained the same features within the kitchen, including the pizza oven and the decor is just incredible.
Chef Enzo talked through his experience, including obtaining some Michelin stars, no biggie.
Consequently, we knew we were going to have a great cooking class lesson.
The Food
All of the ingredients used were from Enzo’s farm which made the experience even more amazing. Before I forget, we also had the most amazing group! There was also his homemade white and red wine which was gorgeous to sip on watching over the coast, and probably helped my nerves for the cooking class! Not nerves, just passion of not wanting to ruin any food!
We first made some pizza, classic tomato and mozzarella. I tell you what, no matter how much you roll the dough, there’s always more room for stretching it out. Chef Enzo also sent us the recipes to try at home so we are very excited to try that. All the ingredients are set out for us to make it that bit easier to follow.

The dough we made was used to make bread for his animals, as dough is best left before cooking as it increases in size (often why I feel unwell when having some pizzas). The dough we has was left for 48 hours.
Seeing the pizza being put in the oven was awesome, especially because it was a super old but original oven.
I was really looking forward to the pasta because I’ve never made it before and it was ravioli. I felt that this was easier than the pizza maybe because it was our 2nd thing we made, but Chef Enzo’s wife totally helped me and Jacob out! I think I also convinced Jacob why I want those cute pasta molds from Dunelm.

We ended the cooking class with our homemade Limoncello Tiramisu containing marscapone, lady fingers and zest (see another reason to get a zester which I’ve been trying to convince Jake to get!).
All of us sat down round the table on the terrace overlooking the coast eating the food we had cooked and it was a lovely way to finish the day off.

Is It Worth It?
There are many types of cooking class experiences. One famous option is tipsy and expensive. However, it always books up.
We wanted something in between. This cooking class was perfect.
We learned a lot and ate well.
It felt private, like being in a bubble—in a good way.
The price of our cooking class was £113. However, I didn’t think it was too bad considering what you got for it. I would absolutely do it again and it should definitely be on your list!
